Submitting Like It’s Your Job: A toolkit for publishing short pieces to advance your writing career.

Researching markets and submitting short stories and essays for publication can be more time-consuming than writing. In this session, we’ll discuss how the short pieces you publish are a part of your brand and your platform. We’ll learn how to find the best markets for your writing, and we’ll talk about tips, tricks, and practices that will give you the best shot at publishing your work. The session will include a discussion of submission technology, guidelines, and etiquette, as well as how to prepare cover letters and bios, how to format your piece, how to submit and track your work, how to work with editors once your piece has been accepted, and plenty of time for Q&A.
