I have a short story called “Lullaby” coming out August 25th! The story is part of an anthology called Better off Dead: Crime Fiction Inspired by the Songs of Elton John and Bernie Taupin. For the anthology, I chose a song and then wrote a short story inspired by the song. Two things: (1) It has to be a song written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin; and (2) It had to be crime fiction.

My favorite Elton John/Bernie Taupin songwriting collaboration is “Your Song”–I think it’s the perfect, quintessential love song. Writing crime fiction inspired by such a sweet song was a challenge, but I have a pretty dark side when it comes to writing, and I think I pulled it off!
