My short story “Lullaby” is now available in Better off Dead: Crime Fiction Inspired by the Songs of Elton John and Bernie Taupin. For the anthology, I chose a song and then wrote a short story inspired by the song. There were two rules: (1) The story had to be inspired by a song written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin; and (2) It had to be crime fiction.

My favorite Elton John/Bernie Taupin songwriting collaboration is “Your Song”–I think it’s the perfect, quintessential love song. Writing crime fiction inspired by such a sweet song was a challenge, but I have a pretty dark side when it comes to writing, and I think I pulled it off!
