My essay “Slipstreamed” is the featured essay in bioStories this week. Publishing in this journal was the best publishing experience I’ve had so far as a writer–the editor loved my essay, really understood it and me, and made the whole experience so pleasant.
This essay means so much to me and is the most vulnerable thing I’ve ever written. It’s about taking a spring break road trip with my grandchildren in 2019. As we traveled through the Salinas Valley and northern California, I found myself unexpectedly facing and dealing with some things that had been haunting me my entire life.
To read the essay, you’ll land on the “contributors” page and will find it listed with the 2024 essays.
